This post is designed for you to get to know me and to provide you with some brief content that you can expect to see from my future posts. The intention of my blog is to promote holistic health; also known as the mind and body connection of health. I'll highlight various aspects of physical health and psychological wellness from the perspective of my professional expertise and personal experience.
Why is the mind and body connection so important you ask?
Well, think about the car and gas analogy. If you put water into your gas tank instead of gas, then your car won't run properly. Right? You may be thinking, "Oh, well that's obvious!" However, is it really that obvious or even that simple? If it was that simple, then why do the rates of obesity continue to rise?
Why do we feed our bodies junk even though we know we'll feel like crap? Why don't we feed our bodies nutritious foods all the time?
The answers to these questions are really not that simple and the purpose for this first post is to give you a taste of what you can expect to see from my future posts! With that said, I'd like to leave you with some food for thought! Some things to consider as to why we do the things we do are due to genetic predispositions, addictions, lifestyle choices, as well as a number of other factors that lead to unhealthy behaviors.
These are all reasons as to why the connection of mind and body "holistic health" are so important to live a healthy and purposeful life.
Stay tuned for my next post as I go into further detail on the mind and body connection. I will be specifically focusing on physical activity, psychological well-being, and nutrition.
